Currently tucked up in bed, in a cosy town hidden in the dolomites, with my cute puppy at my feet, life seems pretty perfect ✨⁣

But honestly, life right now is far from being perfect. The COVID cases in the country are rising rapidly and restrictions are getting stricter by the day. People are suffering all around, either from the economic effect, the psychological effect or from the virus itself. It really isn’t an easy time for anyone, but all we can do is wait, hope and pray for things to get better 💫⁣

So today, I’m thankful for the health and security of me and my loved ones. Being healthy, both physically and mentally, is essential for getting through this trying time.⁣

Turned 28 yesterday and that got me thinking about my life and all the good things I have going on that I am thankful for every single day even though I may take them for granted from time to time. I’m thankful for: ⁣

* Supportive family and friends 🤗 ⁣
* The cutest pupper ever 🐵🐶⁣
* All the adventures I’ve had over the past years (the good and the bad ones) 💁🏻‍♀️⁣
* Living in one of the most beautiful cities in the world and being able to live the life of my dreams 💫⁣
* All the amazing things I’ve been able to do, see and experience and all the amazing people I have met along the way ✨⁣
* You guys on Instagram, who follow along with me and continue to motivate me to share more of my life on the platform ❤️⁣

On Instagram it is so easy to get into the comparing game and feel like you’re not doing enough. I’ve been there and struggled with that for sometime. Which is why it is important to count your blessings and know that everyone is on their own path. As long as YOU know what you want for yourself and you wake up daily and work towards it, you’re definitely doing enough ❤️⁣

Life isn’t a competition, it’s about chasing everything that makes YOU happy and taking those risks to bring you closer to the life YOU want for yourself. ⁣

During the day, this same square outside the Colosseum is packed with people. It is so chaotic, you cannot enjoy the beauty of this ancient monument. But the evenings here are beautiful, with fewer people around and the monument all lit up. ⁣✨
⁣
You can also visit the Colosseum by night by booking a special night tour of the monument. It is an exclusive tour since the capacity at night is extremely limited. So make sure to book your spot in advance. These tours generally run all year round with the exception of the low tourist season during the winter months.⁣

Next in the ‘Rome at Night’ series is Castel Sant’angelo. This monument is also known as the pope’s fortress and is absolutely stunning. ⁣

The bridge outside it is a pedestrian only bridge and is extra beautiful in the evenings with street artists singing and playing their instruments.⁣
⁣
Once a month, the monument is open to the public at night from 8 pm until 2 am. It’s a fun time to visit as the view from the top at night is even more stunning 😍⁣

Living in Rome can get extremely overwheming with the tourist crowds all through the year. Obviously this year is different, yet even with fewer tourists around, the nights in the city will always remain my favourite. ⁣

Which is why I decided to do a mini series showcasing how stunning the city looks at night. It’s been something I have been working on for a while, and I still have a few more places to shoot at. But I decided to start sharing it and finish shooting the series hopefully by next week. ⁣
